Pep Boys Auto Service & Tires

More expensive than the dealership for a tire. The cost of an oil change and wipers were also somehow more expensive. The delay of two days for that tire was unfortunate. I specifically asked for some air in another tire (I planned on replacing it at the aforementioned dealership for much less), but they didn't do do it, leaving me to scramble for a working air station down the street. I also don't know what they were doing to cause my battery, under a year old, to drain. It limped for the first half of the way home. There are other options for a less expensive and quicker tire replacement on the exact street. I don't trust them. Nice enough staff, though.

I brought my vehicle in for an a/c diagnosis and the initial quote was $800. I brought my vehicle back the next week for the work and left it overnight. Instead of doing the work, they re-diagnosed it twice (because the original technician wasn’t “experienced” enough) and brought the estimate up to $2.3k. I had to tell them to stop touching my vehicle to even get it back after nearly 24 hours. I took it elsewhere and got the fix for $600. I had already heard bad reviews about this location but still wanted to keep an open mind. Don’t waste your time.

Genuinely the most amazing and kind people I have ever met. Came in for an emergency battery change and they did everything they could to squeeze me in before close! If you have a daughter and feel weird about her going to auto body places, know that pep boys will never overcharge them. Natalie is the sweetest person ever. Thank you thank you thank you pep boys. I have been here almost 6 times and never had a bad experience. They even give you informative videos about your car.

Zero professionalism. They called me just minutes before my scheduled appointment to say their mechanic was busy working on something else and couldn’t take my car at the agreed time. Instead, they told me to simply drop it off and they would get to it whenever they could. What’s the point of making an appointment if you’re not going to honor it? I took time off work specifically for this appointment, only to have it effectively canceled at the last minute. They say “we tried to contact you”.

I went into this appointment really hoping it would be nothing more than a simple tire replacement, but deep down knowing on my drive in how my car was driving I wasn't hopeful and was honestly just hoping for the best. Despite how busy the front desk was with constant phones and customers, Natalie remained transparent, professional, and patient throughout the entire process — even when I may not have shown up as the best version of myself during a stressful day. While balancing multiple responsibilities, she worked closely with James and David to come up with the safest solution to get me back on the road. What stood out most was the trust and confidence she had in her technicians, which made it clear I was receiving honest recommendations focused on safety rather than unnecessary upselling. I’m extremely grateful for the professionalism, patience, and care shown during what was already a very stressful day.
